The cigar had a very dark brown, slightly marbleized color, rustic looking wrapper. The pre-light nose was filled with rich, well-fermented tobacco notes and chocolaty tones. It was very firm in hand and had a draw that was smooth like a straw. Once lit the cigar offered full robust flavors and a full aroma with chocolaty earth notes that had a mild black pepper bite through the finish. As the cigar was smoked the flavor and body profiles matched the assumptions one could make based off of the cigars appearance. The richness in the aroma continued to develop. A nuttiness developed with some characteristics of black licorice or anise. The nutty tone was a consistent trait in the cigar that came and went. It had a slight chocolate covered cherry note in the flavor which was also noted in the aroma. The burn was slow and extremely even, which produced a long nearly white ash. The flavors of the cigar took front and center stage for a majority of the smoking experience with the body kicking in more and more as the cigar was smoked. Overall this was a complex rich full flavored and bodied cigar that left a lasting impression. Extremely well-made, this is a cigar for the more experienced smoker but something that won’t overwhelm someone who is just getting into the hobby. The cigar started off with a bang and a big body that tapered off, then gradually built back up.
